Today got off to a bad start and only got worse - unusual for us, who are so blessed in every way. While visiting the Musee Carnavalet with friends, Steve and Jan Jones this rainy, chilly morning, Nancy took a terrible fall off the edge of a ramp, landing on her right knee, left foot, and forehead. She was gushing blood, and we feared laceration. Instead, it was a giant goose-egg above her left eye, that did not require stitches, but has nearly swollen her eye closed. However, at the hospital, the X-rays showed the knee uninjured, but heavily swollen; but the left foot has a broken bone in it. She is now sporting a plaster cast from her left foot to her knee, and will be on crutches for 6 weeks. She is also required to inject herself daily with a drug that thins the blood to prevent blood clotting. Shes had moderate pain, nausea, and a bad case of shaken nerves. Its been a long day (12 hours in ER) for MRI, X-ray, lab work, cast, injections, and numerous unbearably long periods of nothing! We got home just before midnight, and Nancy is tucked into bed, with much regret about one badly placed step that resulted in misery! We appreciate your love and prayers.
