Today, handyman Mauricio is delivering 4 dogs houses and a large wire crate to keep 4 big dogs in their homes and out of the South LA shelter. Three families came to the shelter earlier this week, were counseled by Amanda that there was an alternative to surrendering their dogs such as a gate repair and a new dog house in order to comply with a citation. Two dog houses for two big dogs that were spayed/neutered at the ASPCA clinic this week but could not go back home without shelter or they too would be facing a citation. The third dog was already neutered but needed a large crate and a dog house for occasional use, since he spends most of his time inside. None of the families could have afforded to purchase dogs houses and crate. As we get to the end of every month, as money is tighter, we see more people with pets in need of our services.
