Today has been a day of slight improvement and many xrays. The pain is a little less but still hard to manage. The thoracic team removed his cath and chest tube. We are waiting on the Endocrinologist to consult with the surgeon on removing his neck drainage tubes. He is up and walking some around the nurses station. His main pain is in his shoulders. The teams believe his body was reacting to be confined for 13 hours. We combat this pain by exercising his arms about every half hour and piling pillows up around him for support. This pain has impaired his mobility of his right arm and hand. Drs feel it is only temporary .
