Today has been a difficult day to say the least. We have one little boy, age 9 whose father abandoned him and then his mother died. The child is being cared for by his granny, who by right submitted a claim for Guardians Allowance to help her financially in the care of her grandson. The granny was initially denied Guardians Allowance but we appealed that decision, knowing rightly that she is. Problem is, there is no address or contact person in Northern Ireland, and no correspondence address outside of Northern Ireland to send the appeal. And so, having spent 1 hour 20 minutes going round in circles we have sent the case and appeal to the Minister for Social Development, Nelson McCausland. This is your Department Minister, and we have one little boy that is in need of your help.
