Today has been a mentally overwhelming day for me.I went to my vascular doctor, extremely excited that I would be scheduled for surgery to have stents put in my legs. I finally thought, I am almost ready to walk without going numb and having to rest every 5 minutes. The doctor was less than optimistic about my outcome for the much used balloon procedure that is normally done in these situations. I now have to wait 3 months for my heart to get stronger, and then, I will have an ultrasound on my legs and see the severity of the blockages. He could barely detect a pulse in my left and right femoral arteries. If the blockages are to severe (I think he believes this is the case) they will have to do femoral popliteal bypass surgery on my legs. In which the doctor proceeded to tell me that it is a very serious surgery, even more than that of open heart surgery, due to the risk factors. I am not giving up or giving in to the fear. I will fight and I will believe for a healing. Yes I am upset, saddened, and overwhelmed over the news I received today, but tomorrow is a new day, and I have yet begun to fight spiritually and physically with all that I am. I am keeping the faith & let the battle begin!
