Today has been amazing for me. Having the privilege of opening the Charleville disabilities services open day, even though I was freaking out about it. Listening to Kris Barrett, Gerry Thibault and Sally Thibault share the accumulated wisdom they have acquired. Watching how the awesome work that Bronwyn Cavanagh and Sandy Gurney has done come to fruition. Listening to the reactions of the attendees. It was so wonderful to see. For me personally the best part of the day was the couple of hours I spent with Sally, Gerry and Kris over a bottle of wine where I was able to share what I was ting and how I felt about getting a diagnosis. It really affirmed the connection I feel with Sally and Gerry. It was also amazing how quickly I felt comfortable with Kris. I am not a person that connects with people readily. I feel so amazed at how quickly I felt comfortable with Kris. The Newcastle connection was always going to be a winner, but the honesty with how Sally, Gerry and Kris gave advice and support was so wonderful. They assisted me in crystallising my thoughts in preparation for my diagnosis. Thank you for thoughts and support. All in all it has been a great day.
