Today has been an awesome day indeed! This afternoon I - TopicsExpress

Today has been an awesome day indeed! This afternoon I registered for my first ever marathon at Gold Coast..its exciting and scary all rolled into one. Its not the actual run itself that intimidates me but the training that I know lies ahead-particularly the long runs. I am secretly hoping that with the long runs I can keep Tash and Gayl going for as long as possible. I have a sneaky suspicion that I am going to be calling on my wise friend Gayl for plenty of advice. I suppose its the fear of the unknown really. So be prepared for lots of ?????? Gayl! Last night I got the rolling pin out onto my calves and feet. My left foot isnt hurting this afternoon at all so thats good. So my next question is how much of a break do you have after a big race? Sometimes after previous halfs I have taken two weeks off. But with Noosa and GO up ahead I dont want to lose too much time particularly with my long runs needing to build back up. I plan to take a week off with no running and then start back with 4 days a week and increasing the long runs every Sunday.
