Today has been one of the best days of my life because I walked around today thinking of nothing but marriage equality and how much it means to my community. Even though I have no desire at this time to marry anyone, the Supreme Court’s decision has made me happy for my friends. For many years, we were disadvantaged because we are different, these past years has taxed me more than you know, because I felt my life would run out before I could see the change that I have lobbied for. Today I feel like a burden has been lifted off my soul because I now can see the light of equality. I feel like my community has a new spark of hope that will excel our culture into the future. Our next step will be the LGBT Civil Rights Bill without religious exemptions, this will guarantee freedom of employment, housing and much more, I look forward to this challenge and hopefully with all of the brilliant minds of our community, we can write a bill that will be acceptable. I have a plan to accomplish this and it includes every major LGBT advocacy group in the nation. This will take some time but I predict by 2017 this will be a reality..
