Today has changed our lives forever. As most know by now, Trish, our Office Manager, for the past 19 years. She was a faithful employee and very close friend, went home to be with The Lord early this morning. She was more than a friend, more than an employee, she was family to Jan and me. A sister in Christ always putting others needs ahead of her own, always praying on the phone with the thousands of drivers who have called the office for prayer over the past 19 years. I received a call before 7 A.M. this morning from Connie Ferrell, her Pastors wife, that she had been rushed into I.C.U. because a large blood clot had dislodged and went into her lung. Within minutes, Connie called again, with the bad news that Trish was with The Lord, and this scripture immediately came to my mind: 1 Corinthians 5:6-8: So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7 For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord. If theres ever been a woman who walked by faith, it was Trish. She is, and always will be, present with The Lord. If anything, I envy her, but rather than that, I know that someday real soon, well join her.. Jan and I spent the day with her children, her Pastor, Don Ferrell and his wife Connie at the hospital... Pray for all of us as we conduct her memorial service this Sunday, 3 P.M. at Chief Cornerstone Ministries Church in Flovilla, GA. We want to thank all of you for your prayers and support for her family, her church family, and her family here at Truckstop Ministries. Chaplain Joe and Jan Hunter and staff.
