Today i hit the books and after reading for 4hours about the history of painting (The Renaissance) age and before hand, Artist these days dont know how good they have it, pick any style you want, draw what you want, paint want, you are god on your canvas these days with nothing limiting you but you. What i learned today was something i asked myself many times when i look at old paintings, why do they draw them with similar expressions, does not matter who the artist, still the same expressions on the faces, turns out there was strict rules they had to follow back then, especially with the religious factor of the paintings. Many artists art and books were burned out of existence when the change of what is acceptable to paint came in, what that means is that we had people at the levels of all the famous painters you know, that will go without names now, since they never painted again. Reading this and finding out why Egyptians draw in the style they drew back then, they wanted to convey accuracy of a message and not realism, they would also use scale of a person to instead of perspective to pull focus on the main object. Art is not only about doing, it is also about knowing, know why certain things were done, also know why you are doing certain things you do. I am just glad and grateful that i can pick up a brush and paint whatever is in my mind, you should be too
