Today i was asked the question, what should i do to strength my knee, after i have hurt it? ( WARNING! First thing anyone should do is rest that injured area and possibly seek a MEDICAL/PHYSICIAN ATTENTION for help WHICH I AM NOT. FYI) Today I will give you 2 beginner recovery assessment exercises, which are the same as rehabilitation exercises, but with a twist. 1st- squats,( Begin by standing still with legs slightly wide same width as your shoulders, then slightly angle your toes to about 30 or 45 degree, have a regular chair, stool, Swiss ball(large round ball) or anything behind you/under you to help. As you lower your body allow your bottom to slightly touch the object, then come back up repeat 4 more times for a total of 5.)Remember keep your chest pushing toward the sky and back and butt slanted like a hill for the best results. 2nd- lunges,( Begin the same as the squats, also include a chair, stand side ways against a wall, or anything you can find that will help you with your balance; step one leg in front of the other one just enough to form a wide V, then instead of leaning forward to lunge, which will aggravate the injured/sprang knee, try to kneel down with your back leg, this way you will relieve pressure off the knee ,repeat 4 more times for a total of 5.) Remember keep your chest and back as straight as YOU can manage for best results. REST AND REPEAT 2 more time, but, try to increase your repetition of each exercise by one. For example if you have done 5 in the very first set, try 6 in your next set of exercises. THANKS FOR THE QUESTIONS, PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING. Aye...first sessions on me!
