Today in 2006, Joe Calzaghe unified the WBO and IBF super middleweight belts by UD in 12 rounds over Jeff Left Hook Lacy. Though he was an underdog even in his own backyard, Calzaghe made dominating the American look extremely easy. Any time Lacy landed with any sort of power, Calzaghe came right hand with his own stuff. By the 4th round, Lacy was bleeding from the nose and was cut over both eyes, and he went down hard in the 12th from a right-left combination. If it werent for a point deduction against Calzaghe in the 11th, he would have scored a shutout on the cards.
