Brittan Brown invented the home security system - M.V.B. Brown patents home security system. Brown designed a Home Security System with Television Surveillance for the homeowner to view the visitor on a television screen and the visitor also able to view a screen. The homeowner could open the door via a manual lock mechanism. Patent No. 3,482,037 December 2, 1969. 1953 - Dr. Rufus Clement, president of Atlanta University elected to Atlanta Board of Education. 1922 - Congressman, Charles C Diggs was born. 1895 - Fifty-fourth Congress (1895-97) convened. One Black congressman: George W. Murray, South Carolina. 1891 - Charles H. Wesley historian, educator, and administrator, was born on this day. His published works included, Neglected History, Collapse of the Confederacy, Negro Labor in the United States, and 1850-1925: A Study of American Economic History. 1891 - Fifty-second Congress convened. One Black congressman: Henry P. Cheatham, North Carolina. 1891 - Institutions Of Higher Learning North Carolina AT&T College, Delaware State College and West Virginia State College established.
