Diamond Rios Gene Johnson born,1949 * Junior Samples, born Alvin Samples Jr. (April 10, 1926 – November 13, 1983) in Cumming, Georgia was an American comedian best known for his 14-year run as a cast member of the TV show Hee Haw. * Jimmy Martin (August 10, 1927 – May 14, 2005) was an American bluegrass musician, known as the King of Bluegrass. * Jimmy Ray Dean (August 10, 1928 – June 13, 2010) was an American country music singer, television host, actor and businessman. Although he may be best known today as the creator of the Jimmy Dean sausage brand, * Gene Johnson grew up in Sugar Grove Pennsylvania and played the mandolin professionally at a hometown square dance at the age of 4 years old but his finest performance would come years later when he was part of an acoustic quartet at Carnegie Hall. Gene was heavily influenced by the early country and bluegrass music and also folk and blues played a large part. In the early 80’s, Gene joined a well-known group from Kentucky called J. D. Crowe and The New South. Also during this time, Keith Whitley was a member of this band adding to Gene’s list of Favorite Singers.
