Today in OSC History: On May 15, 1687, Old South Churchs fifth minister, Thomas Prince, was born in Sandwich, MA. Prince was a scholar and avid book collector. The Thomas Prince Library contains 2,000 books and manuscripts spanning the 17th and 18th centuries in the subjects of history, literature, science, and religion. It was once stored in the tower of our ancestral home, the Old South Meeting House. Today, Old South Churchs Prince Library is held across the street from us at the Boston Public Library.
