Today in OSC History: On November 16, 1827, Joseph Dana passed away. In 1764, Rev. Dana supplied the Old South pulpit for six months when the church was without a permanent minister. Historian Hamilton Hill noted that Dana would have received an invitation to a permanent settlement, but his voice was thought to be scarcely adequate to fill so large a building. He went on to serve South Church in Ipswich, MA.
