Today in PHL Council, I introduced a bill to remove fees Council to remove use permit fees for group daycare providers, and eliminate filing fees for group or family daycare providers seeking an appeal from the Zoning Board of Adjustment. It became clear after a number of meetings with childcare providers that the application and appeal fees are a major barrier to care. We have a wealth of data that shows affordable, accessible childcare offers significant lifelong benefits to children. It is a game changer for working parents, impacting when, where and how often a parent can work to provide for the family. This measure will ease one of the burdens of providing childcare services.
