Today in Savannah history December 30, 1898 transport vessels were coming stopping in Savannah on their way to Cuba. The Obdam left the port for Cuba with nurses, surgeons and a battalion from a Nebraska regiment. The Roumanian, Michigan and Missouri all arrived in the city today. The Roumanian and the Michigan vessels will take more men from Nebraska and a battalion from Illinois. The Missouri will take supplies for the nurses and surgeons to use in the Havana hospitals.
