Today in a meeting at work we talked about lack of diversity in our workplace. We talked about how all of the holidays that we collectively celebrate are Judeo-Christian. We talked about maybe having a diversity potluck to help learn about the different cultures that comprise our colleagues. We talked about finding a way to learn about different cultures, customs, and traditions practiced and observed all over the world. Then I pointed out that there are no people of colour in upper management, and very few in management at all. Then we had a different conversation. Today was a good day!
