Today in church before we began our Sunday school class some of my class were discussing that they did not get their paper before they had to leave for Church. I did not get mine either but that was not a big issue with me. It is almost always on my porch during weekdays even before I get home and I have no complaints. I suspect the paper like most small businesses in this country are really being challenged because of increasing costs mandated by government regulations and that is the reason the paper is now printed in Winchester and thus late at times for those of us in a hurry--I am not one of them. We discussed the paper itself and I found it interesting that I essentially get the paper for the obituaries and Beetle Bailey on the Comic page which I have read daily since the 1950s. I trained myself long ago not to read or even see adds in the paper itself. I tune them out and have since I was a child. I do read many of the circulars included with the paper looking for specials at grocery stores and clothing specials at stores when I need something. I never read the Opinion Page because I dont particularly care for fiction and hit pieces, do peruse the sports section quickly which is very good and read other articles that are particularly interesting to me. I have wonderful carriers who work very hard and I am sufficiently satisfied with the paper to keep taking it and I appreciate having it in my life.
