Today in history.... In 2005, heavy snow moved across northwest Arkansas and eastern Oklahoma due to an upper level system that began moving northeast out of the southern Rockies on February 1st. The precipitation began as rain in southeast OK and turned to snow by the morning of February 2nd. That morning, snow fell across a large area of northeast OK and northwest AR with temperatures near or below freezing. Far northwest AR received heavy snow of up to 5.5 inches.
