Today in non-league action; the Jacksonville Apostles went up big early in the first half 22-0 led by a aggressive defensive and mistakes by the Vipers offensive. The Duval Vipers(FFA) then scored 14 unanswered points in the 2nd and 3rd quarters to get within 8 pts down 22-14. The Apostles then scored another insurance TD to lead 30-14; and held off a strong come back by the Vipers in the 4th quarter and beat the Vipers in exhibition play 30-22. The Apostles forced 5 turnovers; 3 INT and 2 Fumble Recoveries. Drew Dru Shetter had 1 fumble recovery and Nicklos Grant had 1 fumble recovery and 1 pick 6 TD. Eric Lewis and Jay Vaughn had 1 INT each. Offensively; Akeem Mooney Brown had a monster day rushing the ball along with 1 TD. FB Darius Lawrence had 1 rushing TD also. Great outing for the Apostles who take on a seasoned veteran crew in the Putnam Steelers(EAFL) next Saturday in more non-league exhibition action.
