Today in the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee we’ll be holding a hearing examining the Medicare Advantage (MA) program and specifically the impact Obamacare’s prescribed cuts will have on seniors enrolled in Medicare Advantage plans. This frankly is and should be a bipartisan concern. Millions of senior citizens all across the country are facing real cuts that will threaten access to the doctors they know and trust. According to one study by the American Action Network, Georgia’s 6th District alone has faced a Medicare Advantage cut of $1,660.98 or over 15% per senior since Obamacare came online. That’s unacceptable. I’m working with my colleagues to stop these cuts and, more importantly, find broader health care reforms that will protect our promises to seniors, save and strengthen Medicare, while making the health care system affordable and accessible to more Americans.
