Today is - nominally anyway - William Shakespeares 450th birthday. Its not really, of course. In the first place, no one knows exactly when Shakepeare was born. (Academics backdate from his baptismal records.) In the second place, the English calendar changed after his birth, so any date we guess is slightly off. No matter. Today is the day we celebrate the birth of the greatest playwright the world has ever known, the greatest writer in the English language, the genius who gave us Hamlet and Rosalind, Iago and Bottom, Prospero and Juliet, Lear and Falstaff. I wanted desperately to find some kind of cute which Shakespeare character are you? quiz to post here. I found one, created by PBS. But it told me I was most like OPHELIA, which is so obviously absurd, I cant bring myself to post the link here!
