Today is All Hallows Eve. The eve or Vigil of All Saints Day, Nov 1st. Many confuse it with All Souls Day, which is Nov 2nd. Also known as the Day of the Dead or in Spanish, Día de los muertos. Nov 1st, or All Saints Day is a day in which we honor all the Saints and Martyrs that have gone before us. Our heroes, if you will, in the Christian faith. It is a day we are obliged to go to Holy Mass and celebrate what they accomplished through the grace of God. Likewise, it gives us the hope that we too, by the grace of God, will one day share in His glory for eternity! Nov 2nd, or All Souls Day is the day we pray for our deceased loved ones and all the souls in Purgatory. Let us guard ourselves from getting all caught up in worldly/secular, or evil things and keep these days holy, as they should be. Maybe start new, or rather, bring back old traditions. For example, picking a different Saint every year and learn about that saint and what set them apart from this world. This could be a great motivator for us and our children in our walk with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Rom 12:2 Ephesians 5:3-20, 6:10-18
