Today is Birth Aniversary of the great lyric writer Shailendra .....(Shankardas Kesarilal (30 August 1923 – 14 December 1966), Shailendra was working as welder with Indian Railways ....Raj Kapoor noticed Shailendra in one of his mushaira ...which he liked so much that he buys the right of his poem and use them for his debut movie Aag (1948)...Apart from Shankar-Jaikishan, Shailendra also shared a rapport with very talented composers such as Salil Chowdhary (Madhumati), Sachin Dev Burman (Guide, Bandini, Kala Bazar),,pt.Ravi Shankar (Anuradha)...he also shared a good rapport with filmmakers Bimal Roy (Do Bigha Zameen, Madhumati, Bandini)...During 1960 Shailendra produced the movie Teesri Kasam ...finally released in 1966, directed by Basu Chatterjee and starring Raj Kapoor (RK did not take a single rupee from him) and Waheeda Rehman failed at box office badly....that shoked Shailendra ji and finally led to death...I am posting a very hit song Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh sung by Lata Mangeshkar from Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai which is very well composed by Shankar Jaikishan using his famous orchestra..... https://youtube/watch?v=sWOzv0UNtcE
