Today is Day 12 of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month: Ive recently been told my posts are very depressing: Get over it, youll be seeing them until the end of the month.. Block them or delete me as a friend, your choice. Im sorry if YOU cant handle the truth!!!!! On day 5 I shared the many types of childhood cancer. At the bottom of that post listed symptoms.. I also stated in that post that Knowledge is Power!!! Please learn the symptoms: Continued, unexplained weight loss headaches often with early morning vomiting Increased swelling or persistent pain in bones, joints, back, or legs. Lump or mass, especially in the abdomen, neck, chest, pelvis, or armpits, development of excessive bruising, bleeding, or rash, constant infections, a whitish color behind the pupil, nausea which persists or vomiting without nausea, constant tiredness or noticeable paleness, Eye or vision changes which occur suddenly and persist recurrent or persistent fevers of unknown origin, Other symptoms most common in brain tumors Constant/chronic headaches, dizziness (sometimes more severe when laying down), Constant/chronic hic-ups, loss of balance, head tilt, crossed eyes, blurred or double vision. shortness of breath!!! Remember one major thing NO ONE knows your child better then you!!! If you feel something just isnt right dont be afraid to demand your doctor do further testing no matter how much they tell you its NOT medically necessary... For 6 month prior to Aimees diagnosis she had Chronic headaches, she was put on migraine medicine, dizziness and loss of balance we were told was due to inner ear infection and she was given an antibiotic. Constant vomiting, the flu. Her hic-ups we were told was due to acid reflux. Her shortness of breath due to asthma.. No tests ever being preformed and in some cases just meds prescribed without even seeing Aimee.. After 6 months of medication she NEVER needed, and the doctors refusal to do tests I requested and offered to pay cash for because they werent medically necessary the day came when I was told... Were sorry, your child has cancer and there is NOTHING we can do!!! She has MAYBE 6 months!!!! Now tell me again WHY my posts are so depressing, just how the hell do you think I feel?
