Zechariah, freed to speak after being struck mute for his doubt of the Lord, speaks His first words in praise of God. Zechariahs canticle reminds us of Gods ever faithfulness to us throughout our lives and throughout the ages. Even when we falter, God remains steadfast in His love for us. His time may seem long in answering our needs, but He waits for us to be able to receive His gifts and in the meantime draws us closer in love to Him. Zechariah reminds us that the fulfillment of Gods love for us at that time, and ever since, is the gift of His Only Son.
