Today is Equal Pay Day, which marks the number of extra days into 2014 the average woman has to work to earn as much as her male counterpart. The wage gap is very real and it affects the livelihoods of so many women and families, especially single mother households. White women earn 77 cents to every 1 dollar a white man makes. Black women earn 64 cents to every 1 dollar a white man makes. Other women of color earn even less. For the EXACT SAME WORK that men do. Its our collective responsibility as a society to fight for equal pay for women because when #womensucceed, America succeeds. Educate yoself.
