Today is International Women’s Day, and I can’t think of a better story to share with you than this one. Kolastica’s success highlights how a little hand up from WFP really can make a difference – a hand up that’s only possible thanks to our generous donors. But here’s the really inspirational part of the story: Kolastica’s success is already empowering four more young women. All three of her daughters are enrolled in school, and her younger sister – who she’s supporting – will soon graduate from secondary school. Pretty impressive for a woman who didn’t have the opportunity to continue school past her 3rd year of primary school, isn’t it? Kolastica is building a better future for her family and creating the next generation of women leaders in Uganda too.
