Today is Matt Damons 44th birthday. Happy Birthday to Matt Damon. I met Matt in the VIP room at Madison Square Garden before the Trinidad - Hopkins fight. Matt was a very bright and incredibly nice man. But they had the early fights on a big screen in the VIP room and the camera scanned the audience. Unfortunately, in the audience was Anthony Quinn, who had already been dead for two years. This made Matt and I nervous about entering the garden, into some netherworld of live/dead celebrities. But we decided to go into the Garden for the main event in this metal elevator any way. Inside the metal, freight elevator was Jim Brown and Joe Frazier. The angry testosterone in this tiny space was so intense, that it pushed Matt and I against the back wall of the elevator. I looked at him to see if he was ok, and the skin on his face was flapping like an astronaut taking off without a helmet. I hope he is ok. Happy Birthday Matt Damon.
