Today is Monday!: Would a stranger know it was Christmas if they walked in your house and there was no tree adorned with lights and ornaments? Would you feel the spirit of the season if there were no trips to the mall, no sounds of holiday cheer and no ho, ho, ho? If you woke up on Christmas morning and found no gifts, could you still praise His name? Can you claim a ‘Merry Christmas’ with the solitary remembrance of a Holy birth without the materialism of the world? It is the simplicity of a transformational moment – born in a manger, a King assuming the identity of a pauper, sent to save the world – that should call us to offer praise in the midst of the storm, in the nothingness of our materialism, and the unearned blessings we have received. Let your first words on Christmas morning be words of praise. To God be the glory for unto us a child is born and his name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace! Have a blessed and joyous Christmas!
