Today is Orphan Sunday and we were blessed with the presence of a guest speaker, Dr. Robert Tuttle, at our church. During the message, he looked into my eyes and spoke these words: Adoption is a journey. It doesnt happen over night and you dont have to be perfect. At that moment, it felt like was God speaking directly to me through this man. It felt like we were the only two people in the room and those words were EXACTLY what I needed to hear. Later in the service, he pointed to me, looked me in the eyes again and said, I will not leave YOU as orphans. He went on to share a story about his beloved fig tree that produced no figs . . . the tree he lovingly referred to as his orphan. At the end of this incredible story, he shared with us that his fig tree eventually produced TWO figs. He said they are no longer orphans. At that moment, I was filled with gratitude . . . for the way that the Lord spoke to me through this man . . . that I am no longer an orphan and that there are TWO children in the Congo who are no longer orphans. Please join me in praying that A. Eli and Meeka Grace will know in their hearts that they are no longer orphans and now have a family . . . that during this time of waiting, the Lord will not only protect them from harm and disease, but that He will also prepare them for coming home to their forever family. On this day, Orphan Sunday, please join me in praying for all orphans . . . that they would be adopted.
