Today is Rachels birthday! Shes 12yrs old. After her favorite homemade stir fry dinner, she wanted to work on the diorama a bit. Hey, you cant say no to the birthday girl. :) The last time we worked on it she mentioned that the rocks are way to brown. They need to be more grey. Shes got a good eye for color. The first thing we did was water down a light grey acrylic sample paint, and brushed it all over the cast rocks. It made a big difference. Next thing was to add the base texture. The adhesive was some LifeLike liquid glue. See picture below. She sprinkled on Woodland Scenic fine earth blend. I told her to allow some of the brown base color. She did a great job. I think we have a natural here!
