Today is Saying Goodbyes 2nd Birthday. Thank you for all your support over the past two years, its been an honour to support so many people. When we launched the charity we knew there was a need, but to be honest we have been shocked that the need is as huge as it is...if anyone had told us our website would have over 600,000 hits per month we would not have believed them. This week we will be sharing one letter each day from you.....We hope they touch you as much as they have moved team SG. _________________X_________________ Hi. On July 2nd 1980 I gave birth to my first baby, a stillborn son. I was devastated. In those days you didnt get a chance to see your baby, hold it, love it. We were given very basic information on what we should do, the birth & death had to be registered & we had to decide if we wanted the hospital to dispose of the remains or did we want to do it ourselves, we chose to cremate our son & lay his ashes with his granddad, and then we were sent home to try for another baby. This was To get over the loss. I went on to have 3 more children but never Got over the loss. Then I found out about Saying Goodbye. I read about what you do and about the services you hold & when I found out you were going to have a service in Glasgow I knew I had to be there. I cried many tears during that service but I left it feeling better than I had in 33 years because I was allowed to grieve. Saying Goodbye gave me a peace in my life that I hadnt had since I wasnt allowed a proper goodbye for my son. You will never know just how much you have helped and Id like to say a massive thank you for that. You let me say to the world, Paul, you were part of my life and I will carry you with me until we meet again. Thank you so much once again, From Andrea
