Today is Sunday, November 30th, and today my journey begins. I have committed myself to walking 80 miles between this moment and Christmas Eve...a journey of similar distance Mary and Joseph embarked on over two thousand years when they commenced their journey in Nazareth and concluded 25 days and 80 miles later in a Bethlehem manger on the eve of the birth of Jesus Christ. This journey is supposed to be a time of reflection and meditation...a time to be thankful for all blessings...a time to think deeply about Gods good grace, His love and all that is good...a time to think about ways I can become a better, more Godly man. I am really looking forward to this journey...it is a breath of fresh air, actually. I wasnt going to say anything to anybody about it though, out of fear I might not complete the full 80 miles. You know...with God anything is possible, and if I am meant to walk this journey...effectively walking a 5K on each of the next 25 days...I will do it. I will do it if its Gods will.
