Today is Thanksgiving... It may only be a few minutes into Thanksgiving, but it is today! :D And this picture and its explanation are perfect for today... Choosing to be thankful and to focus on the positive aspects about our spouse instead of the negative!! LOVE this!! Jeff and I have found over and over that if we focus on the negative, we progressively get more and more discontent in our marriage, but if we focus on the positive, our thankfulness blossoms and so does our marriage! So, in honor of today, and knowing that the grass of our marriage is bright green (and I want it to stay that way and get greener!!), I am going to share a list of things I am so thankful for about my husband, and I encourage you to do the same and share that list with your spouse today! What I am thankful for about my husband, Jeff: 1. He is an incredibly godly man who lives out his faith in Jesus Christ in his love and sacrifice for others. 2. He is a man of faithfulness and loyalty and integrity and humor and joy who makes those who are in contact with him feel secure (you have no idea how many strangers come up to him to ask questions or get help... he must just have a trustworthy look about him!!) 3. He is my best friend, and puts in the effort to be my best friend through time spent, hours listening, days hiking and running, jokes attempting to make me smile, and punch buggies punching! 4. He is a wonderful amazing father to our girls who adore him and look up to him... He puts up with a life full of estrogen with a smile and a hug and plenty of chuckles and shrugs when he knows he is just along for the ride!! 5. He is a man who listens to Gods calling and serves in his job as a law enforcement officer with the desire to honor God and help those around him. He has broad shoulders that will carry burdens no one should carry, and a huge heart that few get to see. I am thankful for him and the men and women who serve alongside him, they have each other and a God who has promised never to leave them or forsake them no matter how alone they feel. 6. I love you, hon. So thankful we have fought through the worst times in our marriage to have what we have today, it was worth the effort and struggle to fertilize and prune our marriage into the healthy spot it is now. Here is to many more years of depending on God, loving each other, and enjoying the times that are yet to come! If I were the ocean, you would be the shore...
