Today is Wednesday, Nov 12th exactly one week from Michelles first chemo therapy. Here is an update on Michelle and Ryans #BeingFOhanaStrong journey. Chemo-therapy has been a bit*h and the effects have been brutal on Michelles physical and emotional state. Michelles symptoms although expected are never-the-less extremely devastating. Her bouts with nausea have been continual and eventful even with the anti-nausea meds she has taken. For those of you that dont know, Michelle is allergic to many forms of medication including antibiotics and possibly the pain meds she has been prescribed. This only complicates matters and compounds the effects of the chemo. In the last seven days, Michelle has loss 10 pounds and has become extremely dehydrated. The constant vomiting has given her Thrush so she will have to rinse her mouth 4x daily with a medicated wash. Her blood count signaled to doctors that her immune system is at the bottom of the barrel. Ryan may have to bring Michelle in routinely (every 3-4 days) if her nausea is not curtailed in order to keep her from dehydrating. Today, Michelle was put on IVs to get her fluids back up and Lorazepam seems to be helping her nausea. This is her off week so she will have another seven days of recuperation before her second chemo-therapy on Wednesday the 19th. We pray that things will improve for Michelle and the chemo will not take such a toll on her body. Ryan is standing tall and caring for Michelles every need. Keep him in your prayers also as I know how stressed he is at seeing Michelle hurting so much. On behalf of Ryan and Michelle I would like to pass on my sincere appreciation to all those that have donated to their GoFundMe/BeingFOhanaStrong website. Natalie, Lexie and Noelani (Ryans Sisters) continue to inform as many people as possible. They are using all means of social media, emails and even written correspondence to help raise monies for Michelle and Ryan. We are fortunate to have generous people that have given their time to help raise money as well as placing donation tins in public businesses. The financial impact of Michelle and Ryan not working is profound. Bare bone monthly expenses ( Rent-$840, Elec-$100, Gas/Driving Expenses-$150, Food- tripled due to Michelles health needs) exceed $1100 without food. Their only assistance, from State and Alimony equals - $575 leaving them short over $500 a month!! They really could use our Help........ So please spread the word by posting this web-pages link GoFundMe/BeingFOhanaStrong. Share Michelle and Ryans journey. Copy this page and spread the word. Let us do the very best we can to help them through this difficult time and be happy knowing we made a difference in someone elses life.
