The goal of the Bionic Pancreas Project is to reduce the impact of diabetes on those who have to live with it until a cure is found. To accomplish this, a team of engineers at Boston University are developing a Bionic Pancreas to automatically make decisions about insulin and glucagon dosing every five minutes. That’s 288 decisions per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. In order to secure NIH funding for their final pivotal studies in 2016, they need to complete the production of the final premarket device. This is the actual Bionic Pancreas that will be submitted to the FDA in 2017. No amount is too small and you can help make this dream become a reality for so many ...
