Today is a bittersweet (and a bit strange) anniversary. Twenty-nine years ago, Tom and I pledged loyalty and commitment to each other and in a wonderful turn of events, the love we found has grown stronger and more durable than ever! I am blessed that I have him in my life! However, this morning we are attending the last worship service of the church where our married life began all those years ago. Ruskin Heights Lutheran Church, a church my grandparents helped organize, was a fixture in south Kansas City and in my family. Marriages, baptisms, and funerals in our family were held in that building. Confirmation pictures of cousins graced the walls. Four generations ran down its hallways. And for seven years, I was the parish administrator. Good memories---- And now, after this mornings celebration, thats all there will be. The building has been transferred to another church organization and I wish them all the best--may they create memories like mine.To those of the Ruskin Heights Lutheran Congregation, may you find church homes that bring you support, love and the sense of community. Peace and love to all of you this Sunday morning--and yes--Happy 29th Anniversary to Tom. I love you!
