Today is a bittersweet day for me it is the day that forever changed my familys life, we had finally sold our house, we were moving to down town Susan Moore, our prayers had been answered. It was just another Sat. we had been to Elliotts football game, daddy, Eric and I were gonna start working on our new house and mom was gonna take the kids to Pasquales to eat pizza then to a birthday party for me. Then I got the call from Momma herself saying she had falling and hurt her leg!!! In true Shirley form I asked her how bad is it, is it broke???? She tells me that she doesnt think it is broke that she can walk on it, then I get on the phone with them EMT and he says its def broke it is about to come thru the skin!!! I think she was worried she wouldnt be able to go shopping!!!! That was one of the last days that I got to talk to my momma. So especially today ad every other day I am thankful for the 36 years that I had with her!!!!! She had always been there for us, she made sure we went to church, she was never afraid to witness to someone and tell them about The Lord!!! She has kept all of our kids when we needed her too!!!! She has drove us crazy and also kept us humble!!! I am thankful for all the years that I played sports, she never missed a ball game, my uniforms were always pressed and ready to go and my shoes we Always polished!!! I am thankful for all the shopping trips, she loved to buy for us!!!!! I am thankful for her big hair because on all those shopping trips when she would walk off and leave us we would always look over the isles and when we saw her hair above the isle we knew we have found her!!! I still to this day still dont know her true hair color??? One of these days I will!!! lol. I am thankful for her love to decorate and the holidays which she has passed along to all of us!!!! I know my kids were thankful for her beauty shop appts on Thurs or Friday cause that meant they got to got out to eat afterwards and to the dollar tree!!! I am thankful for all the laughs, the sermons, her Shirleyism as I called them, the memories, like the time she left me and Kristi McAfee Glassco in the Mexican restaurant thinking we had to pay!!! But mostly I am thankful that God chose her to be my mother and that is the best gift of all!!! Miss you momma!!
