Today is a gorgeous day. My mother would have been 69 today. As a tribute to my mother, I launched my company, SpokenVizions Entertainment Group, LLC, on her birthday on 10-20-2000. So it is now considered to be Founders Day for us. Every project that I do, I do with her in mind. When I experienced Teen Night this past Friday night at the Creative Arts Building, I kept thinking about my mother and how she would have been proud of me and the things Im involved it. Today is a gorgeous day. It is a monumental day. It is a day to celebrate life and creative expressions. Today, I do not want to read comments saying sorry for your loss. Instead, lets talk about all of the things we are grateful for. Lets celebrate the life of my mother that is living within my very essence. Lets celebrate the strength of a woman who raised two black boys in the hood by herself, who taught my brother and I about being awesome individuals. Lets celebrate the glorious determination of a woman named Gloria H. Boykin. She will forever be my inspiration.
