Today is a great day! Today is the release of the first Rob Lynch album. Me, Rob and loads of others grew up as children of Banquet, weened on P-Rock, 100 and something minutes on MTV, Big Cheese, Rock Sound, BSM, Walnut Tree, Household Name, Firefly, Bravestar, ombed out, afterschool, awesome compilations, tanaou, the Fenton (the Park, Chinnerys etc) - The first generation of UK punk kids with the internet to bring us all together. Weve all grown up and had to inject our adolescent drive for ethics into our personal and professional lives, whilst having to deal with the challenges life brings. If Punktastic was your homepage and Brand New was your profile song, but you cant find the record that quite hits being a decade down the line, on the head, then today might be your lucky day. Thats my context, but I firmly believe that this record can dovetail into yours. Rob Lynch has made a record that tells the current story of a graduate of a scene that said that anything was possible. A record full of heart and a record full of truth. Loads of melody and excellent bass playing. When family, friendship and love drive you, its hard to find records that celebrate it, warts and all. this album does that. For fans of Thursday, Friday but never Monday, Stealing the crown for longest album title in history and styling it out, All These Nights In Bars Will Somehow Save My Soul is a fantastic record.
