Today is a sad day. Jewel the first dog to be brought into Bandaged Paws has been given an unfortunate diagnosis. The lump on the bone in her leg has gone cancerous and it is eating the bone away. Eventually it will simply collapse under her. The vet feels she might have another year. Donna her foster mom for sometime now will keep her for the time that she has left and she will be safe and warm and loved. With other dogs amputation might be an option but because of Jewels complicated mental state it is not recommended for her. I do not look forward to the decision that will inevitably need to be made.
