Today is a special day. A day in which my eyes are filled with tears of love and gratitude. A day that I have chosen...to pay homage to a strong, beautiful and impartial man that lifted me and my daughter up... when I felt that she could not count on the emotional support she needed, the kind that only a loving, understanding and experienced father can give when a growing child makes a mistake. Today I thank you. Because as a mother, I could only do my very best...but I cannot do the things...that only a FATHER can do. THE noun stepfather is used perhaps to describe the Man that "steps" in when a biological father "steps" out...but you have done so much more than just stepping in. You have been a protector. You have been a listener. You have kept your hands full, and you have endured each of the difficult stages of each one of our five children. Most importantly...you have willingly been "second" to my children, selflessly, for you know that I am a mother first and that my relationship with my children is not compromised. Today, I thank you, I honor you and I pay homage to you. Thank you for restoring, rebuilding and stabilizing a soul that was troubled, and needing support. Your mark on our children will live on for the rest of their lives...and even beyond . ~*~*~*~*
