Today is a very sad day. We helped our little Tomasi leave us. Tomasi was 17 years old, but only 6 months old when he came to live at Ching. He was among 11 sheep that came here as a group 16 years ago. Our neighbors used to raise sheep to train their dogs how to herd. And then when the dogs were trained, the sheep were going to auction. Their kids were upset as they were attached to the sheep and they told us that. Do you know what happens to sheep that go to auction. I do. They are sold for slaughter. The Moms may be bred for years before being slaughtered, but it always ends the same. So we saved all 11 of them. We payed $35 apiece for these precious babies. All of them were 6 months old except for their Moms. They all lived as a family together their entire lives. Do you know how often this happens with livestock? I do. It doesnt. Unless they are lucky enough to be saved by a sanctuary. Tomasi is survived by his brother who is also 17, Lil Wayne and his family, Kristiina and Donald McDonald.
