Today is a very sad day as my last surviving aunt died about 6:45 this morning. At least her daughter, who has been an absolute steadfast pillar of support for her over the past 20 years or so, was with her. I dont know what Janie would have done without Debra. At least it was a very peaceful passing and she didnt have to suffer long. Mostly no pain. I can think back on the years she lived with us when I was about 3 or so. I told her family Sunday that I could remember us doing the boogie woogie to an old player piano with the rolls that played. She was only 10 years older so she would have only been about 13. Strange how memories like that come back to you. She was a beautiful young woman and always one of my favorites. I had to set aside at least 1-1/2 hours when I called her to talk because boy could she talk and naturally, I reciprocated. She was so proud of her children, grands and greats. I know they will miss her terribly.
