Today is an anniversary/birthday of sorts for us here at Bee Bayou... 2 years ago today, we closed the deal and took posession of our little homestead/bee farm!!! As you can see, we had our work cut out for us...we still do, really, but we have come a long way...we could barely even get onto the property, the forest was so thick those first few weeks!! Branch by branch and shovel load by shovel load, we have done nearly all of the work of clearing this land ourselves, and much of it by hand! We immediately setout to clearing space for a campfire, and in 2 short years time, we have created ourselves an awesome little farm with our honeybee operation at the center...we finally moved out here full-time just 3 months ago! I can only imagine what this place will look like in another few years!!!
