Today is another court date for ABC and PP. We are hoping that the judge will finally be able to move this case forward. As soon as we get details we will definitely share. There are some reasons to believe that ABC is warming up to the concept of soap operas which is great since it appears that the rights to AMC and OLTL will be up to revert back in March. First, ABC launched GH Now online. Why is this important? ABC used to have 4 soaps on in a row. They used to have SoapNet. They used to do Soap Weekends at MGM Studios. Then the weekend ended, soaps were cancelled, and SoapNet shutdown. The launch of GH Now online is a sign that ABC is once again thinking about soap operas and testing out the interest of fans. We know GH is not AMC or OLTL. We know that GH Now is online which is not an option for everyone nor a preferred avenue for watching shows. But this is a rare chance to encourage ABC to keep looking at the genre. If you haven’t watched GH Now and are able to view this at abc.go/shows/general-hospital/video/gh-now/VDKA0_fur6giln please do even if it means hitting play and walking away. We need as many hits as possible as it shows interest in the genre. Please share this link with friends and other FB groups/message boards you belong to. But this isn’t all- ABC just announced that they are bringing back Fan February to celebrate GH fans. This concept started in 2003 but was last done in 2007. The promise something special every day all month long for their loyal fans. This once again shows that ABC is focusing on the genre and their fans. Have you heard the rumors that The View may be cancelled and Good Afternoon America may be coming back? This is actually a good rumor for us. We’ve tanked GAA before and this show utilizes current sets and ABC employees. It could be a great filler show until the rights are restored to AMC/OLTL and something can be brought back to daytime. 2015 is already looking better for our soaps!
