Today is my beloved grandmas 86th birthday. She and my deceased grandpa raised me and my sister in our childhood at their house, as a team work with my working parents. I literally owe my whole life to her. She is a living witness and survivor of the war, and her young days were kind of undermined by Japans dark ages. However, Ive learned a lot from her about peoples history, traditional Japanese cultures such as folklore, flower arrangement, and calligraphy, which school education never taught me properly. She still runs her own shop at her age now!, and we chitchat and crack jokes over the phone 2 - 3 times a week between Japan and Sri Lanka. She loves and gets so excited about watching boxing, Sumo wrestling, football, volleyball, athletics and all those bloody and fiercely competitive sports! ;-) I love you and am so proud of you, grandma, wholeheartedly. We shall eat out at your favourite Sushi-go-round restaurant next time I go home! :-)
